Karl Wiener

 

Karl Wiener (1901 - 1949) was a Austrian painter and graphicer. He began his artistic training in 1924 at the age of 23 at the “Ständische Drawingsakademie” (state art school) in Graz and continued his studies of painting and graphics at the Vienna School of Applied Arts. From 1940 he was a teacher at the Vienna School of Applied Arts until he was fired in 1947 and then worked more as an illustrator for social democratic media.
