The Artist: Germain Fabius Brest (1823 - 1900) is a French orientalist painter. He is a student of the painters Émile Loubon in Marseille, and of Constant Troyon in Paris. Fabius Brest made a trip to Turkey from 1855 to 1859, from where he returned with many paintings of landscapes.
