Anthony van Dyck

 

Sir Anthony van Dyck (1599 – 1641) was a Flemish Baroque artist who became the leading court painter in England after success in the Southern Netherlands and Italy. He is best known for his portraits of the aristocracy, most notably Charles I, and his family and associates.
